1. Line Command
The Line command lets you create straight line segments between points. It’s the foundation of most AutoCAD drawings.
How to Use the Line Command:
- Type
LINEor simplyLin the command bar and press Enter. - Click or type coordinates for the start point.
- Specify the end point by clicking or entering the next set of coordinates.
- Continue adding points or press Enter to finish.
Tip: Use the Ortho Mode (F8) for perfectly horizontal or vertical lines.
2. Circle Command
The Circle command allows you to draw perfect circles using various methods.
How to Use the Circle Command:
- Type
CIRCLEorCin the command bar and press Enter. - Choose one of the circle creation methods, such as:
- Center, Radius: Specify the center point and radius.
- Center, Diameter: Define the center and diameter.
- 2-Point or 3-Point Circles: Create a circle through selected points.
Tip: For precision, use Object Snaps (F3) to align circles with other drawing elements.
3. Trim Command
The Trim command lets you cut unwanted parts of objects, making your drawings cleaner and more accurate.
How to Use the Trim Command:
- Type
TRIMorTRin the command bar and press Enter. - Select the cutting edges (the objects you’ll use to trim). Press Enter.
- Click on the segments of objects you want to remove.
- Press Enter to finish trimming.
Tip: Use the Shift key while trimming to extend objects instead.
