Step-by-Step Guide to Create the "N" Shaped Design in AutoCAD

  1. Set Up the Drawing Environment

    • Open AutoCAD and ensure you're in the Drafting & Annotation workspace.
    • Set your units:
      • Use the UN command → Units: Decimal, Precision: 0.0.
  2. Start with a Horizontal Base

    • Use the Line tool (L) to draw:
      • A horizontal line of 22 units at the bottom.
  3. Create the Left Vertical Rectangle

    • From the bottom left endpoint:
      • Draw a vertical line of 30 units upward.
      • Draw a horizontal line of 8 units to the right.
      • Draw a vertical line of 18 units downward.
      • Connect it back horizontally with 8 units to close the rectangle.
  4. Create the Top Horizontal Rectangle

    • Move to the top of the vertical rectangle:
      • Use the Line command to draw a horizontal line of 22 units to the right.
      • Draw a vertical line of 8 units downward.
      • Close the rectangle using the same steps.
  5. Create the Diagonal Line

    • Use the Line tool to connect:
      • The bottom right corner of the left rectangle → to the top left corner of the right rectangle.
  6. Complete the Right Rectangle

    • From the endpoint of the diagonal line:
      • Draw a vertical line of 18 units downward.
      • Draw a horizontal line of 8 units to the right.
      • Draw a vertical line of 30 units upward to close the shape.
  7. Add Dimensions

    • Use the Dimension tool:
      • Linear Dimension:
        • Horizontal lengths: 8, 22, 8.

      • Place dimensions neatly outside the drawing for clarity.
