Plumbing Components Used
1. PVC Pipe

3. Union

7. Reducer

8. Bend
A bend is used to change the direction of the pipe while maintaining the required routing of the distribution line.
9. FTA – Female Threaded Adapter
An FTA provides a female-threaded connection for attaching components such as taps.
10. Tap
The tap provides an individual water outlet and allows the user to control the flow at each delivery point.
System Layout
The four-tap water distribution system consists of a main supply line and branch lines leading to four separate water outlets.

Working Principle
Water enters the system through the main inlet connection and passes through the gate valve.
The gate valve can be used to control or stop the supply to the distribution system. Water then flows through the main pipe and is distributed to the branch lines.
Where required, reducers are used to connect larger-diameter pipes to smaller-diameter branch pipes.
The branch pipes terminate at four individual outlets. Each outlet is connected to a ½-inch FTA and tap. The taps allow the water flow from each outlet to be controlled independently.
Thus, the arrangement provides four separate points of water delivery from a common supply line.
Procedure
Step 1 – Measure the Pipes
Measure the required lengths of PVC pipes according to the proposed layout and mark the cutting positions accurately.
Step 2 – Cut and Prepare the Pipes
Cut the PVC pipes to the required lengths. Remove burrs and clean the pipe ends before making the connections.
Step 3 – Prepare the Threaded Connections
Select the appropriate threaded fittings and prepare the required connections according to the plumbing system layout.
Step 4 – Install the Gate Valve
Connect the gate valve between the appropriate threaded adapters in the main supply line.
Step 5 – Connect the Main Pipe
Connect the main PVC pipe to the valve assembly using the required MTA and other compatible fittings.
Step 6 – Install the First Reducer
Connect the 1-inch × ¾-inch reducer between the larger pipe and the ¾-inch pipe section, where specified by the system layout.

Step 8 – Install the Second Reducer
Connect the ¾-inch × ½-inch reducer between the ¾-inch section and the ½-inch branch section, where required.
Step 9 – Create the Four Branches
Arrange the branch piping so that water can be supplied to four separate outlet locations.
Step 10 – Install the FTA Fittings
Connect the required ½-inch FTA fittings at the four outlet positions.
Step 11 – Install the Taps
Fix the ½-inch taps to the four outlet fittings.
Step 12 – Inspect the Assembly
Check the complete assembly for:
Correct alignment
Proper fitting connections
Loose joints
Damaged fittings
Incorrect pipe sizes
Step 13 – Test the System
Introduce water into the system and inspect every joint for leakage.
Open the four taps individually and verify that water reaches each outlet.
