Create basic shapes using Solidworks

-Create Square block using solidworks software.

1. Open solidworks software and start new part modeling.

2. Select top plane as reference with right mouse button then start new sketch and draw the square drawing by using line command, and dimension it using smart dimension tool.

3. Now select features tab and select extrude boss/bass feature to add material to the 2 dimensional square in another direction (Z-Direction).

4. Now extrude the closed shaded shape.

5. Save the 3D model. Generally solidworks files having extension of .sldprt, we can also save another formats also like .STL, .PNG, etc.,

- Create rectangular block using solidworks software.

1. Open solidworks software from desktop short cut and start new file as part model.

2. Select top plane as reference with right mouse button then start new sketch and draw the rectangle shape drawing using rectangle sketch tool, and dimension it using smart dimension tool.

3. Now exit from sketch mode.

4. Then select features tab and select extruded boss/bass feature to add material in another direction for 2-Dimensional rectangle shape. Now extrude the shaded shape.

5. Now save the 3D model.

- Create 3D cylinder using solidworks software.

1. Open solidworks software from desktop short cut and start new file as part model.

2. Select top plane as reference with right mouse button then start new sketch and draw the circle shape using circle sketch tool, and dimension it using smart dimension tool.

3. Now exit from sketch mode.

4. Then select features tab and select extruded boss/bass feature to add material in another direction for 2-Dimensional rectangle shape. Now extrude the shaded shape.

5. Now save the 3D cylinder model.

- Create triangular block using solidworks software.

1. Open solidworks software from desktop short cut and start new file as part model.

2. Select front plane as reference with right mouse button then start new sketch and draw the traingle shape drawing using line tool, and dimension it using smart dimension tool. Then exit from the sketch.

3. Now extrude the shaded part along it's direction.

4. Now the triangular block is create. Save the file.

-Create Sphere 3D shape using solidworks software.

1. Open solidworks software from desktop short cut and start new file from file menu and select file type as part modeling.

2. Right click on front plane and start new sketch. Then draw the Semi circle by using line command and dimension it using smart dimension tool.

3. Now exit from sketch.

4. Then select features tab and select revolve feature, And revolve the semi-circle about it's horizontal axis.

5. Now the sphere shape is generated. Save the file.

-Create PYRAMID 3D shape using solidworks software.

1. Open solidworks software from desktop short cut and start new file from file menu and select file type as part modeling.

2. Right click on top plane and start new sketch. Then draw the square shape by using rectangle tool and dimension it using smart dimension tool.

3. Now create new plane parallel to top plane using plane tool from features tab.

4.Now select newly created plane as reference then create a point to center of square.

5. Now select loft feature from features tab and select the 2 sketches generated for loft.

6. The 3D pyramid is generated. Save the file and close the solidworks.

-Create 3D-Cone using solidworks software.

1. Open solidworks software from desktop short cut and start new file from file menu and select file type as part modeling.

2. Right click on top plane and start new sketch. Then draw the circle shape by using circle tool and dimension it using smart dimension tool.

3. Now create new plane parallel to top plane using plane tool from features tab. (See this step in above pyramid creation step)

4.Now select newly created plane as reference and create a point to center of circle.(See this step in above pyramid creation step)

5. Now select loft feature from features tab and select the 2 sketches generated for loft.

6. The 3D cone is generated. Save the file and close the solidworks.
